There are many ways to save money that can be rewarding and will lower some of the frustration in your life. Below you will find information and budgeting tips on ways to save money and make ends meet during a financial hard time. With a little extra cash left at the end of the month, you can consider doing some fun things for yourself.

Everyone have their own way of saving. Each person save differently. One person may think they are saving, in fact, they are not. 1st rule of Thumb is Buying in bulk does NOT necessary mean that you are saving unless you can realistically finish the product before it expires. In fact, most of the bulk item is only sold for conveience for the businesses and not for residenital usage.

Here are some ways to help you save money:

  1. Enroll into all of the rewards program. i.e. Air Miles, American Eagle Club, Areoplan Miles, Esprint Club, Esso Points, HBC Rewards, PC Points, Petro Points, Sears Points, Shoppers Points, etc.
  2. Get the stamp cards if it is avaliable. i.e. Coffee/Juice Cards, Lunch cards, Greeting Cards store.
  3. Free Samples - Great ways to save money and try out new products with little or no money out of your pocket.
  4. Save up coupons - It will come in handy when the item goes on sale and you have a coupon to add-on additional savings. Some American stores allow double coupons upto a a certain dollar amount.
  5. Only buy the things you NEED before consider getting things you WANT. Only get things you want ocassionally as a treat.
  6. Sign-up for newsletters. They often notify you of the sale or provide you with a coupon for extra savings.
  7. Cancel the premium channels that usually come in the cable bundle if you really don’t watch them that much, and save $120 a year.
  8. Shopping for clearances when stores begin to put out next seasons clothes can save 30-75% on you family budgeting for clothing.
  9. Stop buying coffee at the chichi coffee joint down the street from work. Bringing coffee from home in a thermos or brewing it in the break room will actually improve the quality of your morning shot of energy, as well as cut its cost dramatically.
  10. Using less energy is a painless way to save. Heat and air conditioning are the largest home-energy hogs. Turn them off when not required.
  11. Pay credit-card bills in full as soon as possible, and take advantage of free bill pay. The real savings can be had by avoiding credit-card debt and paying off what you’ve accumulated as quickly as possible.
